The brief

Stock that exists in several places is not one number, and treating it as one is how retailers end up promising goods they cannot ship. This platform tracks quantity per location and per batch, so a product recall or a warranty claim can be traced to the delivery it arrived in. Re-order, minimum and maximum thresholds are set per product rather than globally, and barcodes can be generated by the system or matched to codes already printed by the supplier — the second option mattering more in practice than the first.
