The brief

The client asked for stock control and nothing else, and resisting the urge to add invoicing, customers and reporting is what kept the system usable. Every quantity is derived from a movement history rather than stored as a number somebody can overwrite, so a disputed figure can always be traced back to the entries that produced it.

What we built

  • Categorised product catalogue
  • Stock history recording every movement, not just the total
  • Admin dashboard showing the current stock position
  • Deliberately narrow scope — no unused modules
