The brief

A tour booking generates a small mountain of paperwork — hotel vouchers, train reservations, itineraries, confirmations — and every one of them repeats details already recorded when the booking was made. The operator was retyping them. We modelled the components of a tour as first-class records: hotels and companies, trains, locations, and the transitions between them. Each booking then selects the templates it needs and the system produces the documents, sends them, and records whether delivery succeeded. Excel import and export were added because bulk itinerary work is genuinely faster in a spreadsheet, and fighting that habit would have been a losing argument.
