The brief

Printing is a business of specifications. An answer sheet, a book and a letterhead need completely different information captured before production can start, and a rigid form either asks for too much or misses something that stops the press later. Rather than build a form per product, we made the job description itself configurable: each job type declares which fields apply — quantity, colour, pages, binding, finish size, sets, serial numbering — and whether it needs separate cover and inner sections. Staff define a new product type themselves instead of asking for a code change, and every job card carries exactly the specification its work requires.
